Previous Festivals
Craft & Culture Women’s Circle
A fortnightly creative workshop held at the local community center, open to women aged 16 and above. Participants learn hands-on techniques, share stories, and connect across generations and backgrounds. All materials, refreshments, and guided instruction are provided free of charge, fostering a warm, inclusive space where tradition meets expression.
Splash & Spirit Day
A vibrant outdoor event held annually at Riverside Green, open to people of all ages. Participants arrive in white shirts and enjoy a fun run, color games, and music. The day features face painting, dancing, and live DJ sets, with Indigenous artists and youth leaders bringing cultural energy. It ends with a collaborative mural, celebrating unity and creative expression.
Walcha Cultural Woodcraft Trip
A weekend cultural visit to Walcha focused on traditional woodcraft and storytelling, led by local artists and Elders. Participants explored carving techniques, shared meals, and contributed to a group artwork. The experience offered a relaxed and respectful space to learn, connect, and celebrate cultural heritage through creative exchange.
Bush Stars & Paper Lanterns Night
An evening workshop where families and children came together to create paper lanterns inspired by bush constellations and Dreaming stories. Guided by local artists, participants used natural dyes and symbols to decorate their lanterns, then joined a twilight walk to light up the garden path. The event combined storytelling, creativity, and quiet celebration, offering a magical space for connection and reflection.
The Great Nundle Dog Race
Held annually in the hills of Nundle, this quirky community event sees working dogs of all shapes and sizes dash down the racetrack in a lively competition. With markets, food stalls, and a country fair atmosphere, the race day offers fun for the whole family—celebrating rural spirit, friendly rivalry, and the special bond between dogs and their people.
Community Meet and Greet
A welcoming social event designed to bring locals and newcomers together in a relaxed, friendly setting. Held in the heart of town, the gathering features light refreshments, live music, kids’ games, and stalls from local groups and services. Whether you’re a long-time resident or new to the area, it’s a chance to connect, share stories, and celebrate community spirit in a casual atmosphere.
